Esta \u00e9 uma \u00e9poca marcada pela frequente ocorr\u00eancia de queimadas e inc\u00eandios florestais. No ano de 2019, por exemplo, todo o entorno de Pedro Leopoldo sofreu com grandes inc\u00eandios, destacando o \u201cMorro da Cau\u00ea\u201d, a Reserva Particular do Patrim\u00f4nio Natural \u2018Sol Nascente\u2019, pertencente \u00e0 Intercement, e a Fazenda Modelo, atualmente de responsabilidade da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais &#8211; UFMG.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pensando em amenizar este problema, a Prefeitura de Pedro Leopoldo vem desenvolvendo algumas importantes a\u00e7\u00f5es preventivas contra queimadas. \u201cAl\u00e9m das a\u00e7\u00f5es desenvolvidas em todo munic\u00edpio pela Defesa Civil de Pedro Leopoldo, estamos realizando um importante e necess\u00e1rio trabalho preventivo contra inc\u00eandios na regi\u00e3o da Fazenda Modelo, incluindo seus bambuzais, pois reconhecemos que estes locais constituem importante patrim\u00f4nio ambiental e paisag\u00edstico de nossa cidade\u201d, disse a Prefeita Eloisa Helena.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De acordo com o Secret\u00e1rio de Meio Ambiente, Mauro Lobato, os bambus que delimitam a estrada PL\/Coqueirinho est\u00e3o sendo molhados por meio de caminh\u00e3o-pipa, com o objetivo de umidificar a palha seca que representa o material combust\u00edvel. \u201cAl\u00e9m disto, foi feita pela Prefeitura a limpeza da estrada com a retirada de todo capim seco\u201d, refor\u00e7ou Lobato.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Em parceria com a Escola de Veterin\u00e1ria da UFMG, a Prefeitura de Pedro Leopoldo ainda realizou a abertura de aceiros (desbaste de terreno em volta de propriedades, matas e coivaras, para impedir propaga\u00e7\u00e3o de inc\u00eandios) com equipamentos mec\u00e2nicos no entorno de toda a Fazenda Modelo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-2 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex
